Meet the team - Key personnel:
Maeve England is Head of Construction and Commercial Dispute Resolution at Mogers. Maeve specialises in real estate and construction disputes and has extensive experience of litigation, arbitration and adjudication. She also advises parties in avoiding disputes and settling through negotiation and mediation and regularly acts for employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, as well as commercial landlords and tenants.
Amy Healey is a Quantity Surveyor specialising in contentious and non-contentious construction issues. Amy has over 15 years’ experience working in the construction industry with extensive experience in the UK and Dubai, dealing with contract review and negotiation, risk management, procurement, cost and value reconciliation, interim and final account preparation and dispute resolution.
Jim Mason is a specialist construction lawyer and ADR Group Accredited Mediator with over 15 years’ experience working in major construction practices in the South West. A published expert in the field, Jim launched the highly successful Masters in Construction Law at the University of the West of England. Experienced in all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious construction law, Jim has guided many clients through non-Court based alternative dispute resolution. Jim’s approach is pragmatic and commercial and he understands that step 1 is to get to know your business to provide answers that address your business needs.
New product
As part of our launch we are introducing a new product at a fixed price for construction industry clients – Mogers Construction Health Check:
Mogers Solicitors Construction Health Check
The Construction Health Check provides expert advice to clients helping them to gain better protection from legal and commercial risks arising from their business activity. We will agree a fixed fee so that you will know from the outset exactly what the cost will be.
The Health Check involves three stages:
i) Consultation
Our expert will meet with you and your team to discuss your needs and gain insight into your business, in particular:
- Are your practices compliant with the New Construction Act? Are you missing the new deadlines and losing money as a result?
- Are you exposed to too much financial risk on your projects?
- Do your supply contracts work in your interests?
- Are you having problems getting paid?
ii) Desktop review
The consultation will specify the documents are expert wants you to provide. Our expert will then review the documents and procedures you currently have in place.
iii) Action plan
We will follow up on the meeting and the review with a written set of practical and easy to understand steps for you to take for an immediate positive impact on your business.
